What is Streaming

Streaming media is multimedia that is constantly received by and presented to an end-user while being delivered by a streaming provider.[note 1] The name refers to the delivery method of the medium rather than to the medium itself. The distinction is usually applied to media that are distributed over telecommunications networks, as most other delivery systems are either inherently streaming (e.g., radio, television) or inherently non-streaming (e.g., books, video cassettes, audio CDs). The verb ‘to stream’ is also derived from this term, meaning to deliver media in this manner. Internet television is a commonly streamed medium.

Streaming Video

Streaming Video

Live streaming, more specifically, means taking the media and broadcasting it live over the Internet. The process involves a camera for the media, an encoder to digitize the content, a media publisher where the streams are made available to potential end-users and a content delivery network to distribute and deliver the content. The media can then be viewed by end-users live.

How to get the best website for your business

Getting a website started for your business is very simple today
with all the technology available to us. There are presently thousands of web
designers around the world, who can design a website for a modest price.

As long as you have decided on your web designer there are basically three considerations when acquiring a website for your business or for personal means.

  • The Web Site design (Appearance of your website, Graphics etc)
  • Web Hosting. All website has to be hosted on a web server to be visible on
    the internet.
  • YourDomain name. This is like (myname.com or anothername.com) This is the address
which users will type in to get to your website.

If you have any technical knowledge of the web you can register your domain name and sign-up for hosting yourself. You can then contact a designer to design your website. With this option you will be in control of your domain and your hosting package. If for some reason you are unhappy with your web designer or if the company goes out of business after a period of time, you will have full control of your website.

If you don’t have the technical knowledge about the web don’t worry. Most designers provide all the services of Hosting and registering domain names. With this you will just have to find a good designer that you can trust with reliable web servers to get your website on the web. This maybe the tricky part. Most companies have had a lot of trouble with designers and maintenance of their company’s website. Server crashes, Insecurities and companies going out of business are just a few of the problems that may arise and leave business owners out in the cold with a website disable causing your company time and money.

Maybe you are wondering what is the point of this article seeing Sioure Web Designers provide most the services outlined. I won’t keep you waiting any longer. The purpose of this article is to give you the user knowledge to make a better decision in choosing your designer and hosting company to design and manage your website. This article will give you also key things to look for when choosing a web designer and hosting.

The Plain Truth
The truth is finally out. Anyone can design an internet website. Just open Adobe Dreamweaver, FrontPage or one of those wysiwyg editors, and you are good to go. You know what I mean. A sixteen year old kid on a laptop creating website for a business. But when his mum ships him off to college you are left out in the cold. You must seriously look for a company that is reliable and can design powerful websites for your business and has a solid network infrastructure.

What to look for
Look for a company that has design websites to your standard. You can ask to see their portfolio. Ask about they network infrastructure. This has to do with the reliability of the web servers your website will be hosted on. If these server aren’t reliable, you will have may days of not accessing your e-mails or your website visitors wouldn’t be able to see your website. Also you will want good technical support. If you ever have a problem and on the web lots of problem can come up. You may want a life person to talk to. Some company don’t offer live technical support when it comes to some services. This will all come back to how much you pay for your services. Sometimes cheaper services end up with a lack of good technical support.

Conclusion
I have seen many website crash and burn for many reasons. Sites have been hacked for security vulnerabilities; companies when out of business, designers retire. What ever happens it leave the website owner holding the bag. My Point? Just do your due diligence. Make sure you have a reliable person to design and manage your site. All make sure you have an exit strategy in place. Do this and you may be flying high.

Sioure A/B testing, Split testing

Sioure Has and is in the process of implementing A/B Split testing for many client to help website owners inprove conversion and generate more responses from your website and online presence. If you are not familiar with A/B testing read below to get more information and get familiar with A/B Testing. We have also posted link to online resources on A/B Split testing.

About A/B Testing
A/B testing, split testing is a method of marketing testing by which a baseline control sample is compared to a variety of single-variable test Website samples in order to improve website response rates. A classic direct mail tactic, this method has been recently adopted within the interactive space to test tactics such as banner ads, emails and landing pages.

Significant improvements can be seen through testing elements like copy text, layouts, images and colors. However, not all elements produce the same improvements, and by looking at the results from different tests, it is possible to identify those elements that consistently tend to produce the greatest improvements.

Employers of this A/B testing method will distribute multiple samples of a test, including the control, to see which single variable is most effective in increasing a response rate or other desired outcome. The test, in order to be effective, must reach an audience of a sufficient size that there is a reasonable chance of detecting a meaningful difference between the control and other tactics: see Statistical power.

As a simple example, a company with a customer database of 2000 people decides to create an email campaign with a discount code in order to generate sales through its website. It creates an email and then modifies the Call To Action (the part of the copy which encourages customers to do something – in the case of a sales campaign, make a purchase). To 1000 people it sends the email with the Call To Action stating “Offer ends this Saturday! Use code A1″, and to another 1000 people it sends the email with the Call To Action stating “Limited time offer! Use code B1″. All other elements of the email’s copy and layout are identical. The company then monitors which campaign has the highest success rate by analysing the use of the promotional codes. The email using the code A1 has a 5% response rate (50 of the 1000 people emailed used the code to buy a product), and the email using the code B1 has a 3% response rate (30 of the recipients used the code to buy a product). The company therefore determines that in this instance, the first Call To Action is more effective and will use it in future sales campaigns.

In the example above, the purpose of the test is to determine which is the most effective way to impulse customers into making a sale. If, however, the aim of the test was to see which would generate the highest click-rate – i.e., the number of people who actually click onto the website after receiving the email – then the results may have been different. More of the customers receiving the code B1 may have accessed the website after receiving the email, but because the Call To Action didn’t state the end-date of the promotion, there was less incentive for them to make an immediate purchase. If the purpose of the test was simply to see which would bring more traffic to the website, then the email containing code B1 may have been more successful. An A/B Test should have a defined outcome that is measurable, e.g. number of sales made, click-rate conversion, number of people signing up/registering etc.

This method differs from multivariate testing, which applies statistical modeling by which a tester can try multiple variables within the samples distributed.

Initially created by aligning Visa’s Account Information Security (AIS)/Cardholder Information Security (CISP) programs with MasterCard’s Site Data Protection (SDP) program, the standard provides an actionable framework for developing a robust account data security process – including preventing, detecting and reacting to security incidents. The updated version, version 1.1, developed by the founding members of the PCI Security Standards Council, became effective with the launch of the PCI Security Standards Council.

Creating a website that attracts visitors

First off let me say. We are professional at driving traffic to Internet websites and have year of experience in developing web marketing strategies for companies around the world, there is no search engine optimizer that will garantee results. We at Sioure Technologies can improve search engine position and in most cases drive more traffic to your internet website, but my friends and family we cannot (like your telemarketers) convince visitors to click on your link from one of those popular search engines. (don’t act like you don’t know what we are talking about, you know like Google and Yahoo). Search Engine Optimizers they are called these days are employed to improve your search engine rankings. We are not magicians. Just remember that.

The Point of this Article
So probably you are asking what is the whole point of this article. That’s a very good question. Take two points for that. The purpose of this article is for you as a website owner to have a reference point and overall knowledge of web traffic and also for helping you to receive the best and well optimized website. (Just remember our first admission we are professionals and Google Certified) we have lots of experience in web development and search engine optimization. So if you don’t interrupt anymore I will be happy to proceed.

The Most Valuable Commodity
What’s the most valuable commodity on the Internet today? According to many experts, it’s an intangible property called “attention.” Current surfers of the web have millions of destinations to select from every time they are online, but limited time and attention to devote to the sites they do choose to visit. “The competition for attention” Web marketers call it “trolling for eye balls” – is fierce. How can you as a site owner, hope to attract your share?

The greatest challenge in marketing your Website is getting potential visitors to notice it. But fleeting glances – assuming you manage to capture them, there are no guarantees of long range success. You have to convert those “eyeballs” into “click-throughs,” that is, to encourage your visitors to stick around long enough to check out your site and discover what it has to offer.

Moving on…
Assuming the best and you manage to get those “click-throughs”, (you know what I mean by click throughs) not only generating traffic is enough, but useful traffic that would fulfill the purpose of your website. 1000 hits of visitors who are not really interesting in what you have to offer is useless in my opinion, you could have settled for 0 hits ……but you shouldn’t feel that bad it may gain you referrals. You must generate useful visitors that are interesting in what you have.

Keyword Selection
So here is the whole point. If you are selling real estate on mars. It would be very good if you came up in search engines when anyone types in Keywords: Real Estate. Please don’t go for Keywords: Real Estate on Mars. No one is searching for that, but you would want then to discover its possible. So you get smart and discover that most users are searching for Cadillac’s. Although you are involve with real estate you decide to cash in on the traffic. So you drop the word Cadillac on your site a couple times and add it in your description. My friend even if you get traffic this way, those users are searching for Cadillac’s not real estate and you will get browsed over. Take my advice keep to the subject of your website and use keywords that are synonymous with your subject. I hope I don’t have to explain that. I was never a pro at English. I am a tech guy.

Lets fast forward. Your user have found you in the search engines. Finally. After all that hard work they are finally on your website. It would be a good thing to have a properly designed website, well organized with easy navigation, or you will lose those users you have worked so hard to acquire.

Even then, you can’t rest on your laurels, or your page-hit statistics. Your next challenge is to turn those casual visitors into repeat customers by giving them reasons to come back for more. You are smart, you can come up with some good ideas to keep them coming back. I don’t want to give away all my secrets here; remember I still need to get paid.

Conclusion
So just remember getting visitors to your website is not rocket science but it can be hard work. It would be easy if you were the only website on the internet, just remember that.
